Mikhail Novikov: Serverless Python in the real world: common patterns and challenges

Description

Serverless Python in the real world: common patterns and challenges

Serverless is an increasingly popular approach to building applications. If you haven't tried it, you should. Serverless apps need no maintenance, they work on “pay per request” model and are inifinitely scalable.

This is how it's advertised; but in practice, it's not that simple. A lot of approaches we use in traditional web development won’t work in the serverless world, especially with Python.

At fstrk.io, we have been building serverless apps for about a year as extensions to our core product. In this talk I will explore common patterns and frameworks for deploying serverless Python apps, share challenges we encountered and our approaches to these challenges.
